BAFTA TV Awards 2007 提名

BAFTA 昨天公布了2007年度电视奖的候选名单。BAFTA 颁发的年度奖包括电影和电视两部份，(BAFTA – British Academy of Film and Television Arts)。BAFTA 在前几年所做的决定，把电影和电视颁奖分开，电影奖在奥斯卡奖之前颁发，电视奖稍后，是一个成功的商业决定，让电影奖更让人关注－－包括美国媒体，电视奖也不需要和电影奖争风。今年的候选名单中，主要还是来自 BBC (37项)和 Channel 4 (20项)，反映了英国电视节目制作的格局。观察候选名单，比较有趣的现象是BAFTA 对电视节目的细致的分类，除了新闻、娱乐、纪录片、电视剧的分类外，在电视剧中，还分为单本剧 single drame (比如 Longford)、多集电视剧 drama serial (比如 Prime Suspect)、电视系列剧 drama series (比如 Life on Mars)、电视连续剧 continuing drame (比如 East Enders)、喜剧 comedy (比如 Extra)、情景喜剧 situation comedy (比如 The IT Crowd) 等。

在提名公布之间刚刚结束的 BBC 警匪剧 Life on Mars 风头正劲，最后一集有8百万观众收看，获得了最佳电视系列剧和最佳男演员(John Simm)提名。但本次提名的黑马是 Channel 4 的单本剧 Longford，获得最佳电视单本剧、最佳男演员(2项)、最佳女演员等重要提名。Longford 是根据真实故事改编，主角 Lord Longford 是虔诚的天主教徒，坚信每个人都应该有机会获得上帝拯救，经常去探访监狱囚犯，他和臭名昭著的谋杀儿童案主犯 Myra Hindley 之间的多年联系和友谊是本片的重点。这部电视剧长达90分钟，其实可以当作一部电影，Channel 4 还曾把它送到圣丹士(Sundance)电影节参赛，但最终没有推出公映，否则也许可以象 The Queen 那样，获得更大成功。Longford 的编剧 Peter Morgan 也是 The Queen 的编剧。

象 BAFTA 电影奖一样，电视奖也有观众票选奖。提名是 Life on Mars (BBC), The Royle Family: Queen of Sheba (BBC1), Dragon’s Den (BBC2), The Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special (BBC1), Planet Earth (BBC1), Celebrity Big Brother (Channel 4).
