BAFTA 公布了 BAFTA TV Awards 2012 的提名名单。风头最劲的是ITV拍摄的以系列杀手 Fred West 为主角的电视连续剧 Appropriate Adult，男女主角 Dominic West 和Emily Watson的女配角 Monica Dolan 都获得了提名，剧集本身获最佳迷你系列剧提名。获得2011年度最佳电视系列剧奖的《歇洛克》(Sherlock)虽然获得最佳男主角(Benedict Cumberbatch)和最佳男配角(Martin Freeman)提名，但剧集却未获得提名。《唐顿庄园》(Downton Abbey)也仅获得一项最佳女配角奖(Maggie Smith)。

BBC4获得了3项最佳海外节目的提名，包括两部丹麦系列剧 The Killing 和 Borgen，以及澳大利亚连续剧 The Slap。

今年的话题是几种剧集的定义，今年BAFTA取消了过去一直采用的电视连续剧(Drama Serial)的概念，转而采用美国的迷你剧(Mini series)的叫法，而且还特别用集数作为定义。所以1－2集的是单本剧(Single drame)，2－5集的是迷你系列剧(Mini series)、6－19集的是电视系列剧(Drama series)、再往上就是肥皂剧和连续播出剧集(Soap & continuing drama)了。

今年BAFTA奖颁奖礼上的亮点，大概是上届影帝Colin Firth给本届影后Meryl Streep“穿上水晶鞋”的一幕花絮。让Colin Firth赢得影帝称号的电影 The King’s Speech 在去年赢得了7项奖项，今年法国影片 The Artist (“the film without speech”)同样赢得7项奖项。看来这部片子接着要横扫奥斯卡了。

和 The Artist 打对头的是英国电影 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy，让很多人失望的，大概是 Gary Oldman 没能赢得最佳男主角，在奥斯卡奖上他的对手是 Georgy Cloony，估计又很难打过。

纪录F1车手赛纳的纪录片 Senna 赢得了最佳纪录片奖，在许多人眼中，这是一部叫好又叫座的电影，理应得奖，然而在奥斯卡最佳纪录片奖上，它竟然没有进入15部电影的大名单中。

获得最佳处女作奖的 Tyrannosaur，导演是 Paddy Considine，他是演员出身，在拍了这部片子后，许多人开始看好他的导演能力。

2011年度的BAFTA电视奖(BAFTA TV Awards)星期天晚上揭晓，最引人注目的奖项“最佳电视系列剧”(Best Drama Series)由BBC 的 Sherlock 夺得，剧中华生的试验者 Martin Freeman 还获得了最佳男配角奖，但是男主角福尔摩斯的饰演者 Benedict Cumberbath 就没能获得最佳男主角，而是被 BBC 的单本剧 Eric and Ernie 的男主角 Daniel Rigby 夺得。

获得“最佳电视单本剧”(Best Single Drame)的是由 BBC 和 ITV 合拍，讲述 ITV 的著名电视连续剧 Coronation Street 原创过程的 The Road to Coronation Street，但是 Coronation Street 今年却没能拿到“最佳电视连续剧”奖，败给了BBC 的 EastEnders。获得今年多集电视剧的是由 Channel 4 拍摄、阵容强大的 Any Human Heart。

获得最佳女主角奖的是由电影 The Is England 延伸出来的电视剧 This Is England ’86 中的女主角 Vicky McClure。获得最佳女配角奖的 E 4 的电视连续剧 Misfits 中的 Lauren Socha。

I like coming here. Thank you, BAFTA. Consistent with the fact that almost every turning point in my life has hinged on the banal and the arbitrary, such things as kitchen appliances and unsent emails, the day of my first meeting with Tom Hooper I had to postpone a routine but somewhat uncomfortable medical examination. I am happy to report that the meeting was rather less uncomfortable than the exam, but as time went on it became clear that Tom’s working methods were just as thorough and invasive as my doctors. But when you see the results you’re grateful, so I am thankful as I am to my doctor. I’d like to thank our masterly voice coach Neil Swain for indulging our dependence on him, and my very great friend Tom Ford who has everything to do with me standing here. 2011年度的 BAFTA 奖提名公布，The King’s Speech 获得14项提名，它所能得提名的项目几乎都获得了提名。在美国大红、刚刚拿了金球奖最佳电影的 Social Network 获得6项提名，美国片 Black Swan 和 Inception 虽然分别获得了12项和9项提名，但估计在2月13日的颁奖礼上，这些片子都不会是 The King’s Speech 的对手，这部片子横扫今年 BAFTA 奖已是意料中事。

Colin Firth 刚刚获得了金球奖最佳男演员，前一阵子还获得了英国独立电影奖最佳男主角，BAFTA 最佳男主角奖也是囊中之物了。这部英国电影也极有可能获得最佳电影奖，拿一堆技术奖也是肯定的，只是在最佳男女配角和最佳导演编剧上还有未知因素。

让人不解的是，在英国独立电影奖上获得最佳女主角奖(Carey Mulligan)的英国电影 Never Let Me Go 竟然在 BAFTA 奖提名上全军尽墨，一个提名都没有。在最佳女主角上，Black Swan 中的 Natalie Portman 是最大热门。

BAFTA 奖和奥斯卡奖的形式相似，都属于是电影工业奖项，由 BAFTA 的几千名成员投票决定。奖项中只有杰出英国电影奖(Outstanding British Film)是由一个评委会选出，它和最佳电影奖的结果很少重叠，有望获得最佳电影奖的英国片，一般就不会在杰出英国电影奖上胜出。去年在英国公映的电影都能入选 BAFTA 奖，它的最佳外语片也没有奥斯卡最佳外语片“一国一片”的奇怪逻辑，同时外语片中的演职员也比较容易入选其它奖项，今年的最佳男女主角奖提名中，都有外语片中的演员(Biutiful 中的 Javier Bardam 和 The Girl with the Dragon Tatto 中的 Noomi Rapace)。

第一次注意到这位女演员，是在 BBC 2006年拍摄的 Wide Sargasso Sea 中，她演的是女主角 Antoinette Cosway，这位 Jean Rhys 的“简爱前传”中的“第一任罗切斯特夫人”，从美丽到疯狂，是个性格复杂的角色，记得当时我还特别注意到了这位女演员的独特脸形，觉得带有异国情调，很适合这个角色。

后来看Channel 4 在1992拍摄的 The Camomile Lawn，才发现里面儿童时代的 Sophy 就是 Rebecca Hall 演的，剧中 Sophy 虽然是个孩子，但却是个重要角色，而且感情丰富，性格早熟。顺便说一句，这部连续剧中有好几个年轻演员后来都成名了，Rebecca Hall 是最小的一个，此外还有Jennifer Ehle (演出的最著名的角色是Pride & Prejudice (1995)中Lizzy)、Toby Stephens 和 Tara Fitzgerald。

The Camomile Lawn 的导演是 Peter Hall，英国著名的剧场导演，皇家莎士比亚剧团的创办人之一，也是 Rebecca Hall 的父亲。她能演 Sophy 应该和她父亲有关，但此时她父母早已离婚，她是跟着母亲长大的。据她在上周六的《卫报》访谈中说，她母亲、美国女高音歌手 Maria Ewing 的身世比较复杂，出生于底特律的工人家庭，目亲是荷兰后裔，父亲是印第安人和黑人的混血儿。这也许可以解释为什么她的脸形比较特别，有点异国情调了。

在采访中她说在 The Camomile Lawn 之后她就决定当演员了，但是不却不想当童星(她当时10岁)，以后上了私立女校，然后上了剑桥大学，在大学第二年却因为成绩太好，认为不必向人证明自己能拿学位，决定退学了。她以后几年的演出都是在剧场，在父亲的导演之下。

她在影视上的下一个重要角色，是在根据 David Nicholls 小说改编的电影 Starter for 10 (2006)演女配角，在男主角的两个女友中，她是不太漂亮但却更聪明有个性的那一个。她以后的角色，也经常也有同样的个性，通常是貌不惊人、内敛、性格复杂或外柔内刚型，她的外形似乎也有助于她塑造这类角色：算不上非常漂亮，却让人感觉有特别之处。

她在电影上的突破之作是在 Woody Allen 的 Vicky Christina Barcelona，因此还获得金球奖提名。在 Channel 4 2009年的重头戏 The Red Riding 中，她的角色大概是其中性格最复杂的女角，获得了今年BAFTA电视奖的最佳女配角奖。

虽然她片约不断(新片 Please Give下周五在英国公映)，但是英国著名的影评人 David Thomson 却对她的职业前途却有保留，认为如果要成为有重大影响的女星，她还需要一种渴望和激情，一种对角色的饥渴。

Kenneth Branagh 凭侦探系列 Wallander 第2季获得最佳男主角奖，Julie Walters 凭政治人物传记 Mo 获得最佳女主角奖，她在这一奖项获得了两个提名。大选过后，深受欢迎的政治喜剧 BBC 的 The Thick of It 获得了最佳情景喜剧奖、最佳男演员奖(Peter Capaldi)和最佳女演员奖(Rebecca Front)。英国女演员 Samantha Morton 的导演处女作 The Unloved 获得最佳单本剧奖。

终身成就奖(BAFTA Fellowship)授予了 Melvyn Bragg，不过他主持多年的 ITV 的旗舰艺术节目 The Southbank Show 已经被砍了，他在 BBC Radio 4 的历史、艺术与科学综合节目 In Our Time 还在继续。今年 BAFTA还颁发了一个特别奖给予 Simon Cowell。

所以谁“最值得”奖励，通常超越了“谁最好”，更何况一部电影的“好”和“坏”，实在有太多的主观因素，而且在经过时间洗礼之后的“好”与“坏”又会不同，反而谁“最值得”往往能形成共识。奥斯卡奖经常会某一年形成某位电影人“挣得”的获奖资格的共识：Martin Scorsese 贡献出那么多杰作，却每次都与奥斯卡奖擦肩而过，直到拍了水平一般的 The Departed，学院的投票人觉得“应该”给他发一个奖了。

在写这篇的时候，离奥斯卡颁奖还有几个钟头，所以只能猜测一下投票人会怎么选择。Avatar 技术出色，是一种奇观，虽然故事本身简陋，称不上“最佳”，但却是今年最“值得”拿大奖的电影，因为它向全世界展示了在经济萧条、盗版泛滥的今天，好莱坞依然可以用创新来赢回观众。“挣得”获奖资格的还有 Crazy Heart 中的 Jeff Bridges，我怀疑 Sandra Bullock 也属于此列，有可能对 Meryl Streep 构成挑战，相比之下，Carey Mulligan 还太嫩，如果她获奖的话，她可以重复在BAFTA颁奖礼上“我从来没想到……”的致辞，只是这回应该是真心的。

今年的奥斯卡奖提名名单其实很弱，The Hurt Locker、Precious、A Single Man、An Education、加上被忽略的 Bright Star 等，都是很精彩但在份量上略有不足，或是在某一方面极为突出但是整体还不能称为“最佳”的电影――象 Up in the Air、Invictus、Crazy Heart、Inglourious Barsterds 等属于后者。

在今年奥斯卡奖提名名单中，最好的电影，是 Michael Henake 的 The White Ribbon，这部电影有悬疑片的框架，让人想看下去，但是总觉得有什么可怕的事情在银幕外发生，作为观影者，你自然想弄清楚发生了什么，但同时又觉得一旦自己“知道”了，那些丑恶也沾到了自己身上。这其实是 Michael Henake 在 Funny Game 中想做到、但是表达过于直白的效果。

法国片 An Prophet 十分精彩，有许多让人心悸之处，拳拳到肉，难得的是在一部扣人心弦的监狱悬疑片上，可以由观众做出多种不同的诠释，席卷了上个月的法国恺撒奖。但是在我看来，还是比不上 The White Ribbon。遗憾的是，这两部电影，加上没有获得提名的瑞典电影 Let the Right One In，不仅无法争夺几个最重要奖项，而且可能还拿不到最佳外语片奖――当然奥斯卡奖的最佳外语片奖本身就是个笑话，其它国家应该联合抵制这个奖项。

今年英国出了几部颇受好评的电影，但是上个月英国电影学院奖 (BAFTA 奖)提名一出，竟然与奥斯卡提名十分相似，以美国片为主，引起了一些议论。特别是今年美国电影并没有许多特别优秀的作品：《阿凡达》(Avatar)虽然打破了各种票房记录，在影像上是一种奇观，但是创意都花在了制作上，剧本简单牵强；唯一在各方面都比较突出的，就只有《拆弹部队》(The Hurt Locker)了；其它一些影片，如《珍爱》(Precious)、《无耻混蛋》(Inglourious Basterds) 等等，只能说在某方面较有特色。在这种形势下，这个英国电影业内奖项竟也忽视本国电影，不免让一些英国电影人感到气馁。

好在BAFTA成员最终选择了把两个最重要的表演奖授予了英国演员，其中一部电影还是英国片。Colin Firth 在《单身男人》(A Single Man)中饰演一个1960年代的美国教授，把这个角色在失去同性恋情人之后的痛苦展示得刻骨铭心，获得最佳男主角奖。年轻女演员Carey Mulligan 在主演了英国电影《一种教育》(An Education)之后，立刻成为最受青睐的女星，获得最佳女主角奖。

不过在前天的BAFTA奖颁奖礼上，最重要的新闻，是小成本制作《拆弹部队》全面打败了巨片《阿凡达》，获得6项大奖，不仅为导演 Kathryn Bigelow 赢得了最佳导演奖――这是意料之中的，而且拿到了最佳电影奖。相比之下《阿凡达》只获得了最佳视觉特效和最佳造型设计2个技术奖。

今年的BAFTA奖颁奖礼，好莱坞照例来了大队人马，只有获得最佳女配角奖的Mo’Nique 缺席。但是BAFTA奖选择了《拆弹部队》，会影响奥斯卡奖投票人的选择吗？

Kathryn Bigelow将凭《拆弹部队》获得奥斯卡最佳导演奖，这是大部份人的预测，但是这部电影有可能在BAFTA奖之后，再下一城，夺得奥斯卡最佳电影奖吗？英国影评人Mark Kermode 认为机会甚微，因为《阿凡达》的成功，对美国电影工业而言意义重大，这部为美国电影扛旗的作品，一定会被选为最佳电影。

在表演奖上，Mark Kermode 认为获得最佳男主角奖提名的美国演员 Jeff Bridges 获奖机会最高，这已是他第5次获得提名，这次在《狂野的心》(Crazy Heart)中演出动人，而且还自弹自唱，这个奖今年非他莫属。相比之下，Carey Mulligan 争夺最佳女主角奖的机会更大一些，但她的对手是多次获奖的 Meryl Streep，实力强大，结果难料。

获得BAFTA奖最佳男女配角奖的 Christoph Waltz (《无耻混蛋》)和 Mo’Nique (《珍爱》)，也是奥斯卡奖的最大热门，相比之下，Christoph Waltz在最佳男配角奖上的优势较小。

2008年金融海啸带来的一个意外后果，是在颁奖礼上，获奖者都下意识地收敛起来，少了许多张扬的表现。今年BAFTA奖颁奖礼上，Colin Firth 讲了一个小故事，Carey Mulligan坚称她没有想到自己会得奖，而最感人的场面，是获得终身成就奖 (BAFTA Fellowship)的英国女演员 Vanessa Redgrave 的致谢辞。奥斯卡奖颁奖礼，是一个大得多、也更有表演味道的秀，12年前卡梅隆的《泰坦尼克》号获得了11项奥斯卡奖，他上台大吼了一声“我是世界之王！”不知道今年的奥斯卡奖会不会留下什么令人难忘的镜头呢？
