2009年度的英国传播记者协会奖 (Broadcasting Press Guild Awards)揭晓了，和去年一样，BBC的节目占了绝大多数。BBC 的政治讽刺剧 The Thick of It (第3季)获得了最佳喜剧节目、最佳男演员、和最佳编剧奖3项奖。传播记者协会(BPG)的会员是那些为电视电台工作的记者们，所以对时事类的节目比较青睐， The Thick of It 大概会让许多时事记者都感到十分痛快，剧中男主角 Malcolm Tucker 的“充满创意的脏话”本身都成了一种娱乐。原班人马2009年拍摄了电影 In the Loop。《卫报》最近开始每周六推出一个专栏 Malcolm Tucker’s election briefing，这个虚构人物成了“专栏作家”，由获得今年最佳编剧奖之一的 Jesse Armstrong 执笔。
获得最佳单本剧奖的 Enid 是 BBC Four 的女性艺术家系列 Women We Loved 中的一集，最佳系列剧奖是 BBC 拍摄的伊拉克战争题材电视剧。
获得最佳女演员奖的 Maxine Peake 主演的两套电视剧 Criminal Justice (第2季)和 The Street (第2季)都是 BBC 近年来很拿手的5集一套的电视剧。Criminal Justice 采取每天1集(1小时)、连续5天播完的方式，因为时间比较充分，允许比较复杂的情节和人物，采用同样方式的还有BBC的 Five Days。The Street 采用是每集独立成篇的方式，有不同的主题，角色们是伦敦同一条街上的邻居，生活有时会出现交集。
