爱丁堡图书节(Edinburgh Book Festival，也有翻译成“读书节”的，和“书展”是不同的概念)已经开始了，今年的图书节的主题是“全球格局的变迁”，其中有关中国的部分有 Jonathan Watts (When a Billion Chinese Jump)，Richard McGregor (The Party)，Michael Dillon (China: A Modern History)，还有 Hilary Spurling (Burying the Bones)等作者参加。

爱丁堡图书节的成功程度，可以从观众人数上看出，参加图书节的作者大部分都不是畅销类型小说作家，或是明星自传作者，然而每场讲座几乎都坐满了观众。
